Founded in 2000, the Toronto International Art Fair is one of the most successful fairs in North America. TIAF is held annually at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Canada's top convention and trade-show facility located in the heart of downtown Toronto.
Holding the position of the third-largest English speaking theatre district in the world after New York and London, Toronto is host to an eclectic, cosmopolitan and sophisticated arts and culture community.
The Toronto International Art Fair, Art Toronto 2009 continues to attract the participation of top galleries and cultural institutions from Canada and around the world. Art Toronto 2009 will feature more than 100 galleries from 14 countries, including 22 first time participants all selected by a hand picked committee of established art professionals. TIAF 2007 attracted more than 18,000 visitors in just five days and facilitated $15 million dollars in sales securing its position as the country’s most discriminating and relevant art event.
The Opening Night Preview takes place Thursday, October 22nd with the Fair officially opening to the public on Friday, October 23rd at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, Exhibit Halls A and B. TIAF Art Toronto 2009 is a must attend event for artists, collectors, critics and industry professionals interested in viewing more than 5,000 pieces of work by some of the most renowned and emerging artists of the 20th and 21st century.
In addition to spectacular works of art, TIAF offers a diverse and extensive range of interactive programming. Prominent guest speakers and special project presentations offer an open dialogue for the exchange of ideas and opinions on contemporary art.

Art Toronto 2009 launches on Thursday, October 22nd with a Special Collectors’ Preview at 4:30 p.m. for the serious collector.
